Hello, you wonderful soul.
I’m Whitney.
If I could describe myself in two words, I’d say:
Reading, writing, and art are the constants of my life; I spend more time immersed in them than anything else. I’ve always believed that sharing is a form of caring, and I think that holds true here. This is my space to share those creations with you.
My Blog
For as long as I can remember, I have felt like a stranger. It is a persistent reality—the sense that society was designed in a language I simply don’t speak.
I watched people act with a conviction I couldn’t grasp, often prioritizing belief over reason. Even nature felt equally beguiling. Consequently, the “Why?” phase typical of toddlers never ended for me; it just evolved.
In the absence of an intuitive understanding of my world, I turned to study. I began documenting everything: the land and its varied creatures, but also the intricate machinery of humanity. I looked at the social, economic, and political structures that favour the few; healthcare systems that profit from sickness; and the systems that tether people to poverty while protecting the wealthy. I examined the “death of the village,” the rise of consumerism, and the double-edged sword of the Internet. I became fascinated by our reactions to mental illness and how—alexithymia aside—emotion has steered our species since the dawn of recorded history.
I still have much to learn, but the journey is well underway. Join me as I share these findings, intermingled with my own reflections. My hope is that by building these bridges of understanding, we can foster a more profound sense of empathy and care for the world around us.
